Privacy policy
Last updated 29 October 2026 (accounts added)
The short version
- No passwords. You get an account automatically, and adding an email is optional.
- No ads, no tracking, no analytics, and we never sell anything about you.
- We keep your player name and game progress so you don't lose them, your daily challenge scores, and any question reports you send.
- You can delete your account and everything in it from Settings at any time.
Who we are
Roofball – College Football Quiz ("Roofball", "we") is an independent game. It isn't connected to the NCAA, ESPN, any conference or any college. To contact us about privacy, email support@playroofball.app.
Your account
When you first open Roofball you get an account automatically, with no email or password. It stores your player name, rating, coins, cars and footballs, stats, streaks and recent game history, so your progress is safe if your phone's data is cleared. Player names are unique.
If you choose Save with my email, we also store your email address so we can send you 6-digit sign-in codes. We only use it for signing in and for replying if you contact us. We don't send newsletters or marketing.
Your sound and timer settings and a random ID for your device stay on your phone only.
What's sent when you play
Daily challenge
When you finish the daily challenge, we store your player name, your score, the date, your account and your device's random ID, so we can show the leaderboard and stop anyone posting twice a day. Everyone can see the name and score on the leaderboard.
Question reports
If you report a question, we store the question, the answer, the reason you picked, any note you type and the app version. Reports don't include your name or device ID. Please don't put personal details in the note.
Online and friend games
When you play online or challenge a friend, your phone sends your player name, rating, football design and your answers to the other player through a live connection. While you search for an online game, other players searching at the same time briefly receive your name and rating so a match can be made. These game messages are passed along and aren't stored by us.
If nobody is free online, you may play a stand-in opponent run by the game. Nothing extra is sent for those games.
Services we use
- Cloudflare hosts the app. Like any web host, it handles standard request details such as your IP address to deliver the pages.
- Supabase runs accounts and sign-in, the leaderboard, the question reports and the live game connections.
- An email delivery service sends the 6-digit sign-in codes, if you add an email.
- Google Fonts and jsDelivr deliver the game's fonts and one code library, so they see the request from your device.
These services may process data on servers outside your country. Each has its own privacy policy.
How long we keep things
Your account and progress are kept until you delete them. Accounts without an email that haven't been used for 12 months may be deleted. Leaderboard entries and question reports are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted. Live game messages aren't kept by us at all.
Your choices
You can change your player name in Settings at any time. Future scores use the new name. Settings → Delete account and progress permanently deletes your account, progress, email and leaderboard scores straight away. To have a report removed, or to ask what we hold, email us with your player name, and we'll deal with it within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example the UK or EU), you may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Roofball is a general-audience trivia game and isn't aimed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has posted something to the leaderboard, email us and we'll remove it.
Changes
If we change how Roofball uses information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
